birthday week

Around our house, we seriously celebrate birthdays for an entire week.  It is never intentional but it just seems to happen and I am totally okay with it! :)  I LOVE birthdays so the more celebrating the better!
We started my birthday week with dinner with Josh and Jennifer on Saturday night at a new restaurant in Fayetteville, Posta Plata.  (Seriously, if you are local, go check it out!  Very comparable to Cantina Laredo and SO good!)  Jennifer's birthday is the day before mine so it's fun to celebrate with one of my best friends!

After dinner, we headed over to Bliss to get a few cupcakes. What's a birthday celebration without some cake?!? (Again, if you are local, go to Bliss! Not only do they have GREAT cupcakes, but it is owned by some of our close friends and we love to support them too! :))

On Sunday, Jason's parents came up from Fort Smith and treated us to lunch after church. We don't see them too often so I was glad they could come up for a few hours.

Love my family! And obviously something was pretty funny to Hannah!

Jason went out of town for the week so Hannah and I stayed at my parent's house. My parents agreed to take Hannah and I out for my birthday and Valentine's Day....I think they felt sorry for us since Jason was gone on my actual birthday.

We went to Marketplace and ate way too much but couldn't leave without a Chocolate Mess! We celebrated my dad's birthday too so Hannah got to help both of us blow out our candles. She loves birthday celebrations more than I do! Raising her up right! :)

Since Jason was gone that week, we went out just the two of us on Friday night after he got home. He won a giftcard a few weeks ago at a lunch event to James at the Mill so we headed there for our own celebration. Seriously, so good and so fun to go somewhere different.

They served a complimentary caviar appetizer....Jason wasn't too sure about it. Ha! But the dessert was wonderful! And so pretty!

Then on Tuesday, my friends planned a girls night out to celebrate mine and Jennifer's birthday.  We went to Mojito's and then to see The Vow.  Such a fun night with great friends!  And a great way to end birthday week!

valentine's day with Hannah

We celebrated Valentine's Day a little early with Hannah since Jason was leaving for a business trip on the 14th. She loves getting presents and loves any holiday so we can celebrate....like mother, like daughter! :)

This was the sweetest, most genuine hug.  Love my girl!

Of course, Hannah wasted no time opening up the new game and playing a round before bed.

snow day!

We had our first (and probably only) "snow day" today and it was wonderful!  Hannah and I spent the day playing games, dancing, reading books and, of course, playing in the snow!  I loved every second of it!  Especially when Hannah came in our bedroom at 7:20 this morning exclaiming "Mommy, it's snowing outside!  I looked out my window and there was snow!"  Seriously, this girl was SO excited about it!  I'm glad it actually snowed this winter because my little one has been asking for snow for several weeks so this absolutely made her day!

Finishing the day off with a warm bowl of vegetable soup :)

valentine parties with friends

We had two little Valentine parties/playgroups with friends during the Valentine season. It was fun for both of us and I can't wait for next year!

We made some fun Valentine crafts together with neighbor friends, enjoyed a yummy lunch and then all the kiddos passed out Valentine's to each other.  Hannah took Cars Valentine cards for the boys and Disney Princess Valentine cards for the girls.  She was very specific that cars are for boys and princesses are for girls.  Ha!

Hannah and I made heart cookies to share.
Again, blue was for the boys and pink was for the girls.

Checkin' out the loot from her party.  Look at that sneaky little smile!

Hannah ready for our second Valentine exchange with playgroup friends:

And a little Chickfila picnic to finish the Valentine celebrations!

sick days

Even though this winter was super mild (thank you, Lord!) it seems my little family has had more sickness than other winters.  We have spent lots of time at doctor offices, pharmacies and home cuddled on the couch.  I do love the cuddle time with Hannah but I sure wish she felt better!

First trip to the doctor over a 5 day period :(

Super sleepy, sick baby

Last week, she had a slight case of RSV.  This resulted in a couple trips to the doctor for breathing treatments and lots of medicines! We also rested, watched lots of movies and played when the Tylenol kicked in and her fever was down.  She was a trooper, even with a fever for five full days.

Giving MiMi an update on how she was feeling

Rockband with Daddy :)

Trying to get her fever down by playing in some ice water

The breathing treatment finally gave Hannah some relief!  She wasn't too sure about the mask at first but did great and finished the treatment like such a big girl!

We made some Valentine's sugar cookies to kick off February

By mid-week, Hannah was finally fever-free and feeling much better so we ventured out to Jason's office for a little lunch and playtime.  Hannah LOVES going to Jason's office so it was a good outing for both of us!

I am so ready for warmer weather and all this sickness to go away!  It is draining on a momma to see her baby so sick and miserable. I seriously have felt so helpless as I watch her little body fight off all these infections.  Ready for health and sunshine!
