Our holiday started Tuesday night after Jason got home from work and we went swimming with some friends at a nearby pool.
We had a lazy morning around the house while Jason prepared his smoked ribs for a cookoff we had with some friends for dinner. After the ribs were in the smoker, we headed to lunch at Chickfila and ran into some of Hannah's sweet friends.
When we got home from lunch, Jason had to monitor his ribs so Hannah spent some time in the pool and snacking on some watermelon.
(Thanks, Rebekah for the headband! Hannah didn't take it off all afternoon! :))
After naptime, we headed over to the rib cookoff with lots of friends! Hannah had a blast playing with all the girls and especially showing the little girls how to play. (I think she is going to be a great big sister! :))
Hannah and Campbell
Hannah and Ellery
How we got all of these precious kiddos to look at their crazy mommas with cameras, I will never know! Ha!
Finally time for the judging of the ribs. These judges were serious!
After the results, some of the rib smokers exchanged tips and smoking secrets. :)
After the cookoff, we came home and watched some fireworks from our driveway, which seems to be becoming a tradition for us. :) Unfortunately there is a burn ban right now so no personal fireworks were going off around us, but we were able to see a few from area churches that had fireworks. Even though we couldn't see them the entire time, we definitely heard them!
And Hannah enjoyed a little sno cone while we watched
Happy 4th of July from the Kaundarts!
Hope y'all had a wonderful day celebrating our freedom! Thank you to all the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for the freedom that we experience every day in America. What a blessing it is call this country home!
