6 months and eureka springs

On Thursday, Jason and I celebrated 6 months of marriage!  Hard to believe it has already been 6 months...we are just having SO much fun!!!  So, for the weekend, we headed to Eureka Springs for a much needed getaway and some R&R before Jason starts his job with American National Insurance.  We had so much fun just doing NOTHING!  I have a really difficult time just sitting so this weekend was exactly what I needed to slow down and just relax.  We did a little shopping, ate at some GREAT restaurants, enjoyed downtown, watched some movies and just enjoyed being out!

Our first night out in Eureka

Our Valley View suite at The Heartstone Inn (with our own little gazebo over looking a beautiful valley)  Seriously, if you haven't been to this bed and breakfast, book it NOW!
It was AMAZING!!!

Enjoying a stroll around downtown.  So many cute little shops and cafes!

Our indulgence for the day....good ole chocolate from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  (I think this is what kept Jason from complaining too much about all the shopping and store hopping I did!)

Before dinner at DeVito's...which is definitely one of the BEST Italian restaurants!  Again, if you haven't been there, go as soon as you can! :)

We had a wonderful time and are so thankful to my parents for keeping Hannah so we could enjoy a weekend away.  We were definitely glad to be back home but unfortunately, we came home to a sick little girl. Hannah has had a low grade fever for two days now but prayerfully it is just part of teething and nothing else.  But it is always so hard, as a mom, to know that my baby doesn't feel well and I can't do a lot about it. :(  We are just praying this is nothing serious and all will be better tomorrow.

nick jr. storytime live!

My mom, Kristy and I took Hannah to her first Walton Arts Center show!  We saw Nick Jr.'s Storytime Live and Hannah LOVED it!  She was absolutely in awe of Dora the Explorer and Ni-hao, Kialan.  It's a little sad seeing her grow up but it is so fun getting to experience all these "big girl" things!

Hannah was trying to make friends :)

And she got a little thirsty during the show

Thanks, MiMi for the fun girls' day out!

more winter weather

Could spring get any worse of a start than this???

This is what was awaiting us outside our front door this morning.  We knew we were in for some serious snow but REALLY????

Hannah just had to walk outside to see it herself.  She loves the snow and would be out in it all day if I would let her!

And Jason had to measure the snow :)

Needless to say, we are snuggled in this house today and enjoying some great family time!  Watching movies, playing with Hannah, eating yummy food and simply hanging out...this is what I call the perfect snow day!

the first day of spring

Today Jason had the opportunity to go fishing with his dad and brother on the White River.  Here is a picture I received from Jason's dad as they were fishing...

I don't think this was his biggest catch of the day but he sure was having a good time! :)

As Jason was enjoying nice, warm weather, this is what we were experiencing in Fayetteville:

Just the beginning of a serious winter storm

Luckily, Jason left the White River earlier than planned so he could have some quality time with his girls. :)  He got home just as the roads were becoming horrible in Fayetteville.  Thank you Lord for watching over Jason and getting him home safely!  So we finished the first day of spring, cuddled inside with a blizzard outside and some YUMMY taco soup.  (Get the recipe here. Thanks, Katie!)

And I'm hanging on to these beautiful spring flowers for as long as possible!

These were a sweet surprise from Jason on Friday before date night.  I have the best husband! :)

yay sunshine!

Since today was BEAUTIFUL outside, Hannah and I spent some great time playing in the sunshine! She LOVES it outside and it is so fun to watch her explore the outdoors. Hannah is so curious about everything and really tries to take it all in. I love her millions of questions and watching her get so excited about life outside. I am SO ready for every day to be like this so we can have more fun times in the sun!

Hannah loved picking all the "flowers" (aka weeds).  She even "ooed" and "ahhed" as she was picking them!

And yes, Hannah was peeking through our fence into the neighbor's backyard.  She's just SO curious!
(Fortunately, we don't have neighbors behind our house!)

so very thankful

Today I was reminded of the things in life I am thankful for.  I realized that all too often I take my life for granted.

I am thankful for a husband who loves me and Hannah and takes really good care of us!
I am thankful for a healthy, growing little girl who makes us laugh every day.
I am thankful for sweet friends who walk with us through each step of life.
I am thankful for wonderful parents who help us so much and love us through everything.
I am thankful that I serve a God who loves me enough to send His only Son to die for my sins when I don't deserve it.

So very thankful and so undeserving of all the blessings in my life.

what a week!

It has been one crazy week around here!  I am so glad it is finally Friday!  Let me recap this week...

Monday: I was gone all evening for training for work.  Jason was home with Hannah.  (Fun times were definitely had!)

Tuesday: Jason had a guys night to celebrate a friend's birthday.  I was home with Hannah.  Jack and Kristy came to visit and Jack taught Hannah that her name was Jack.  She spent most of the night walking around saying "I, Jack" and pointing to herself.  Very cute and very funny but also a little frustrating for mom!  Then about 8:15pm, our dryer dies.  Not a good ending to the day...especially when there are wet clothes in the washer and damp jeans in the dryer.

And this is Hannah's attempt to "helping" with the laundry before the dryer fiasco....

Wednesday: I have to get Hannah ready to spend the night at MiMi and Daddy Dean's.  Normally she is pretty excited but we had a difficult time getting everything together Wednesday morning.  I have on damp jeans from the night before that I tried to dry with a hair dryer but was unsuccessful.  And on the way out the door, Hannah picks up a half empty can of Diet Coke that Jason left in the garage and proceeds to dump it out, most of which went down her sleeve.  I didn't want to fight changing clothes at that point so we went to Bentonville in sticky, wet clothes.

Community Group on Wednesday night was great for Jason & I!  Very convicting and very timely for the week I was having...the lesson was on being overwhelmed.  God sure has a sense of humor, doesn't He?!?

Thursday: Finally getting back to normal around here.  And finally a night that all three of us were home!  Praise the Lord for some good family time!

Friday:  I am working from home which means I get to spend some quality time with Hannah!  She is taking a wonderful nap as I get caught up on paperwork, emails, phone calls and a little blogging. :)  And it is Fajita Friday!  This means Jason takes care of dinner, either cooking fajitas at the house or bringing them home from La Huerta and we get to enjoy a quiet (fingers crossed) evening at home, just the three of us!

the sun is shining!

It is beautiful outside around here!  To celebrate and enjoy this beautiful Sunday, we decided to take Hannah on a picnic lunch at Wilson Park followed by some playground time.  Needless to say, she LOVED it!  Hannah loved watching all the other little kids running around and saying "hi" to just about everyone.  It was so good to finally be outside since we've been cooped up all weekend recovering from some nasty colds around here.  We are praising Jesus for the sun and praying it sticks around awhile!

What picnic is complete without McDonald's french fries???

Hannah loved crawling through the tunnel....this could be a good
hiding place in the future, I'm afraid!
